Prabish Devkota
Third generation of the family business, and the one who dragged it online.
"The mountains have not changed in thirty-five years. Everything about how people find them has."
About Prabish Devkota
Prabish Devkota represents the next generation of the family that founded Trekking Team in 1991, and his job is to make sure the company that his father and uncles built by word of mouth and fax machine is just as findable now that people plan their trips from a phone.
His work runs across operations, marketing and business development. In practice that means the itineraries you read on this site, the way trips are costed and quoted, the partnerships with agents in Europe and India, and the digital side of a company that put itself online in 1993 and has been quietly ahead of its market ever since.
He has travelled in more than thirty-five countries, which is unusual for someone in Nepali inbound tourism and useful in a specific way: he has been the client often enough to know what a badly organised trip feels like from the receiving end. A good deal of how we now write itineraries, answer enquiries and handle the awkward parts of a booking comes from that.
He works from the Gongabu office alongside Hari Dev, Ram Sharan and Shyam Krishna, and he is usually the person who answers if you write to us about a trip that does not fit any of the ones listed.
